Cursive Handwriting
We teach cursive script handwriting at Cheadle Heath Primary which means starting every letter on the line, not from the 'top' which you may be more familiar with. We have found that teaching cursive handwriting from Reception has a real impact on letter formation and presentation because once a child has learnt how to write each letter correctly, they are ready to start joining them together.
We already have in Year 1 children with beautifully, joined handwriting so please support your child at home by encouraging, modelling and practising cursive handwriting. The attached file shows the correct letter formation.
