Helping In School

Cheadle Heath Primary School lies at the heart of the Cheadle Heath community.

The help we receive from parents / carers is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff; it also shows the value parents place in children’s learning and children benefit from this.  Parents / carers interested in helping in school, and who have the necessary free time, should contact the school office or speak to any member of the teaching staff.

Parents / carers can help in many different ways, including:

  • Sharing skills and interests e.g. talking about their job, helping with school activities including the library
  • Listening to children read
  • Accompanying children on educational visits
  • Making costumes for productions

Regular helpers in school are all checked by the Independent Safeguarding Authority in line with child protection guidelines.

Local businesses have built up links with our school and we value their help.  This includes business in the community who send trained volunteers in from local businesses on a weekly basis to work alongside pupils to develop reading and play maths games. Learners from local high schools gain work experience by helping in school and our children benefit from seeing positive role models make such worthwhile contributions.
