Many visitors come to school and we receive lots of compliments. These are a small selection that we have received over the last few months.

10.01.18 – Parent of a child moving out of area  (via email)
[Child] has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Cheadle Heath Primary and I have been really impressed with all aspects of the school, the lovely, warm and friendly team in Reception and the way that they know and embrace every child individually, and the great communication and leadership from Ms Meekley and school overall. We are really quite sad to leave.

09.01.18 – email
Thank-you for the  informative newsletter – sounds like a very positive start, through: the first assembly; great attendance news; and such amazing KS2 pupil feedback on their curriculum at CHPS, praise indeed! Your calendar of events is always so helpful.

04.10.17 – email from a Head Teacher at The Kingsway
Just wanted to say thank you to your year 6 teacher and amazing students who were so welcoming last week. The children asked some great questions and [children] loved being back at Cheadle Heath. These three are doing great at Kingsway and are a credit to you and your school.

13.09.17 – new Chair of Governors visit
Just a quick email to say what a pleasure it was to be taken all around school and the nursery this morning. After less than a full week back in school everywhere is beautifully organised and inviting. The children are already responding so well to their new learning environments, as demonstrated by orderly classrooms and behaviour. They seem very happy to be back in CHPS, including the young new nursery children and others new to the area and school. This is a credit to the dedication of Team CHPS. In spite of dreadful weather the sun is definitely shining inside school! Keep up the great work and team effort, it bodes well for the 2017/18 school year!

28.07.17 – email after Leavers’ Assembly
I came along to the leavers assembly this morning – and just wanted to say what a brilliant performance by the Year 6 pupils!! It is a good job I took a tissue as I ended up in tears!  As a parent, it is so lovely to see how proud the children are to have been a pupil at Cheadle Heath Primary and it is clear they have such fond and special memories of their time there, from nursery right up to present day.

15.06.17 – email following new intake meeting
I’m so glad I attended the new YR intake parents’ meeting this evening. It was really good to see such a well attended meeting. The invited parents were treated to a superbly prepared session with: informative packs backed up by the teachers’ well timed and illustrated presentation; bargain priced school uniform; school lunch tasters; classroom visits and outdoor/forest schools provision showing a wealth of exciting EYFS learning opportunities. All the EYFS staff had obviously worked so hard to show these areas at their best.

07.05.17 – email from a parent
I just wanted to send a massive thank you to you and the rest of your team for taking the time to arrange and attend Robinwood. [Child] had an amazing time and I thank you for the frequent pictures and messages which kept me well informed of the fun you were having and eased any concerns we had for her first trip away from home. Thanks again.

Just a quick email to say what a lovely Easter Bonnet Parade morning I had before the Easter holiday. It was such a pleasure to be part of the school’s now traditional annual event! As I arrived the KS2 children were busy pleasantly escorting adults to tables and very competently taking our coffee morning orders. As the young children entered the hall they looked wonderful wearing such an amazing variety of hats and nearly every one smiled and paraded confidently in front of their full to capacity audience.

Proud parents and grandparents were so positive about the work you do at CHPS and how dedicated you and your team are to providing such a wide range of opportunities for bringing out the best in their children. One grandad said “It was nothing like this in my day but I wish it had been!” A mum said she had visited another local school but discounted it immediately because the children were “so regimented and didn’t seem to be enjoying their learning”. Confidence, happiness and enjoyment of such wide-ranging learning opportunities are obviously really appreciated by these families. Well done Team CHPS!

28.03.17 – email from a Governor
Please convey my congratulations to the CHPS sports’ teams and those children rising to such amazing challenges at Chill Factor! What stars they are! Their achievements have also made them such good ambassadors for CHPS within the wide Greater Manchester area. The staff involved must feel very proud of the children and that all their hard work over time has been so successful.  “Congratulations!” You all deserve a holiday!

19.01.17 – email from a Grandparent
… yesterday I was late picking [child] up from Craft Club. I just wanted to say how absolutely lovely the teacher was about it, not a cross word or cross look and completely made me feel so much better. [Child] was absolutely fine too, he said he’d been helping her to tidy up. Please could you convey my thanks to her…… All your staff that I’ve had any dealings with seem amazing. It’s all because of the leader I reckon !!!!!

14.11.16 – comments from a local visiting Headteacher
I just wanted to drop you a line to say a really big thank you to you and all of your team at Cheadle Heath for letting me visit last Friday. I have been completely inspired by the work that you do and have been left with the lasting image of how happy each of the children that I met are in your lovely school.  Your environment is really strong and you show your children’s strengths off just brilliantly.

27.10.16 – Harvest Thanks
The staff of Chelwood Foodbank Plus would like to thank all the staff, parents and children at Cheadle Heath Primary School for their Harvest of 2016. .What an absolutely fantastic collection, my car was groaning with delight at the sheer volume of food & toiletries! Your support has yet again been phenomenal and I genuinely wish to thank you for your school’s support.

21.07.16 – email from Y6 parent following King Lear performance
So pleased we finally got to see the performance and I can only imagine how good it was on stage at the Lowry.  Absolutely loved it! How they even begun to get to grips with that script I’ll never know! They were all amazing!  Thank you for giving them the opportunity to tackle Shakespeare! Felt strangely emotional tonight seeing them all up there together for one of the last times! They’ve all grown into wonderful, confident young people.

18.07.16 – email from Y6 parent after Sports Day
Sports day was fab! Really loved it.

16.07.16 – email from a Grandparent
Just a quick email to say how impressed I am and how much I have enjoyed reading ‘Headlines’ (newsletter) this year which my daughter forwards to me every month. It gives me so much pleasure and heartens me to read about all the wonderful things that are going on in your school. My grandson has just finished in one of the Reception classes and has had a great year (even though I know he can be head strong and a bit difficult at times) but I look forward to all the exciting things that I’m sure he’s going to be taking part in on his journey through your school.

I know what a difficult job teaching can be and I really applaud your drive and enthusiasm and that way your staff are so welcoming and understanding which can only come from your great leadership……

Have a lovely summer holiday and a really good REST !!!!!

14.07.16 – comments following Y6 production of King Lear at The Lowry

  • “That was the best performance I have seen during my 14 year involvement @CHPSchool. If you missed it, you missed out! Well done @CHPSEmerald.” (parent)
  • “To all staff and children involved. I was a little worried about going to watch King Lear at the Lowry because I know how difficult the play is, but I needn’t have been because the production was superb. I really enjoyed the school’s part and the way the children used the instruments and acted with confidence. Everyone obviously enjoyed themselves. The children will remember their involvement for a long time. I was also impressed with the way the children behaved very maturely in the long intervals. A truly enjoyable afternoon and thank you for the experience.” (Governor)
  • “Spellbinding.  So proud of the children and staff for giving the kids such an amazing opportunity.” (parent)
  • “Didn’t know what to expect as Shakespeare isn’t my bag but I was amazed at the confidence and the way the children delivered such a play. Amazing.” (parent)

08.07.16 – email following school art exhibition
Just wanted to say that I am so impressed with the children’s art work. I was unable to come to the exhibition so only saw them today, they are awesome and will make great memories for the children to have when they are older. It is so nice for the children to have their own specially framed price of work.

27.06.16 – email from a parent leaving to move house
We have made the plunge and are moving to [place] during the summer holidays.  [Child] has really loved attending Cheadle Heath and since he started in the pre-school it has been amazing to watch him develop.  I have nothing but praise for the school and his teachers – especially [teacher] who he loves!

31.05.16 – email following receipt of newsletter
What fantastic information on CHPS pupils, both present and recent! This is praise indeed for all the continued hard work by you and your staff at CHPS. Your school’s approach to pupils’ enjoyment of learning across a broad curriculum and emphasis on developing the whole needs of your children evidently positively impacts on their lives in and out of school. Well done to all concerned!

26.05.16 – email from Simply Books
Just to say thank you to you, and your staff, for helping make The Book Factor 2016 a success. It’s been lovely working with your teachers – everyone has been so enthusiastic right from the start.
The children’s performances at the Plaza were brilliant … I think we had a lot of delighted parents proud to see their children on stage!

26.05.16 – email from Vice Chair of Governors exiting the role
Sadly the time has come for me to stand down from my role on the Governing Board, as we finalise our move . It has been such a privilege to serve alongside you all over the last three and half years, I have learned so much from the experience and am very grateful for all the wonderful support I have received. I am certain that Ofsted will recognise the considerable progress achieved over the last 2 years and I wish you all the very best for the future!  CHPS will always be a very special to me and I will keep a keen interest from afar.

06.05.16 – email received during our den building day
Hi, I have just been on a course next door to the school and I saw the children enjoying den building.  I was so impressed with the children’s conduct, they really worked well as a team and the older children were supporting the younger children, really very lovely to observe!
– and from the organiser (10.05.16) Thanks so much for inviting me….I had two wonderful days in the sun with fab staff and children! Please pass on my thanks to everyone and it would be great to come back!

21.03.16 – email from Y6 parent following Happily Every After drama and workshop
Just to say what a fantastic idea I think it was to let the children watch a play as diverse as ‘King and King’. I have never heard of such an initiative being brought into the classroom but I think it’s a fantastic way to encourage children to be open minded and accepting of everybody, regardless of sexual orientation. I have to admit that when [child] was telling me about the play they watched I didn’t expect that ending but all became clear when I read the letter she came home with!

09.03.16 – email following Y4 class assembly
What a fantastic assembly, [child] has really enjoyed this topic and the enthusiasm and excitement Miss Dickson has brought to it. I have to say, [child] was visibly shocked with your admission about never reading Harry Potter although she herself has to admit she wasn’t interested until Miss Dickson made it seem like a lot of fun!!

08.01.16 – email
Your Newsletters always have the feel of ‘you heard it here first’ keeping the school community so well informed!

17.11.15 – email from a parent following after school cookery workshop
Just a thank you from myself and my daughter, we both thoroughly enjoyed the cookery class after school and the cooked pizza was delicious! A big thank you to your two staff who took the class and kept the children hanging off their every word. Everyone really enjoyed and was very impressed. Many thanks

17.11.15 – email from a Governor following afternoon tea with the school council
Just a quick email to thank you for the lovely surprise afternoon tea meeting with the School Council. It was such a pleasure to meet with these children! They really are a credit to you. Your time and enthusiasm to support them in their new roles and responsibilities is having such a positive impact on their knowledge and understanding of ‘citizenship’. They not only provided detailed answers to our questions about their roles and responsibilities but also challenged us with their thoughtful questions! It was a super, realistic and meaningful opportunity for all of us. They are keen, kind and set a great example to others! Well done and thank-you!

11.11.15 – learning support teacher
I just wanted to tell you that I visit a lot of schools and this is the one where I am made so welcome and where I notice the number of wonderful opportunities the children have. The school always looks lovely – children’s work is celebrated on beautiful displays and everyone is always so happy in school.

04.11.15 – email following new pupil starting school
I would just like to thank you for your kindness and professionalism this morning when [Y4 child] was having her first day. I left the school confident that she would be happy today. I am very impressed with the set up you have there and I think [child] will be very happy there.

23.10.15 – email following parents’ evening
I just wanted to tell you that I had a fantastic parents evening!! Miss [teacher] talked with such energy and enthusiasm about what the children were learning and how [child] was doing, she was so good.

When I was filling out the survey we talked about the school and again such positivity in how you look to get the school involved in so much and give the children and staff as many opportunities as possible to learn in different and fun ways. It is such a pleasure as a parent to see your child’s teacher so into their work, I understand why [child] is enjoying [year]so much!

20.05.15 – Local Head teacher
Love your tweets! It is fantastic, you really get a sense of all that is going on. I’d love to be a child at your school you do such interesting things !

29.03.15 – Supply teacher

I worked at your school as a ‘supply teacher’ last week. I would be grateful if you would pass my thanks on to all your staff and [Topaz Class] pupils who all made me feel so welcome. If Ofsted gave recognition for being “Welcoming” you would be right at the TOP!

24.03.15 – Parent of a child moving out of area  (via email)

May I take the opportunity to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to yourself, and all the teachers and support staff who have worked so tirelessly to give [child] such a wonderful start to his academic life – it is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. [Child] has loved his time at Cheadle Heath and has already made a list of the friends he wants to remain in contact with.
